Empowering Everyday Wellness: The Wellbeing+ App and the Future of Digital Health

As Amway Global continues to invest in holistic health solutions, Calder was engaged to lead the design of a mobile experience that would extend the impact of their Begin 30 gut health program. The result was the Wellbeing+ app an intuitive, habit-forming platform designed to help users integrate six core wellness behaviors into their daily lives: nutrition, hydration, supplements, mindfulness, physical activity, and steps. The initiative began as a strategic effort to support users beyond product consumption. Research revealed a drop in user engagement after the initial 30-day supplement challenge. Without meaningful digital reinforcement, many customers struggled to build lasting habits ultimately impacting retention and long-term wellness outcomes. Calder worked alongside Amway’s internal product, marketing, and engineering teams to reimagine this journey, introducing a digital tool that would drive adherence and accountability while encouraging sustainable lifestyle change. Through a series of workshops, competitive benchmarking, and user interviews, Calder crafted the experience architecture and visual system for the Wellbeing+ MVP. At the heart of the product lies a streamlined daily tracker that simplifies progress logging without overwhelming the user. To further reduce friction, the app includes an AI-powered meal plate scanner, allowing users to track food visually a key differentiator in the crowded health app landscape.

Pilot testing conducted with over 30 Independent Business Owners informed key refinements across the user flow and interface. Feedback emphasized the importance of visual clarity, subtle motivation, and simplicity qualities that Calder prioritized in the final design system. The app now serves as a scalable foundation for Amway’s broader wellness platform, with branding, engagement strategies, and digital infrastructure built to support future growth. By combining behavioral design with a deeply human-centered approach, Calder helped Amway bridge the gap between supplements and sustained wellness. The Wellbeing+ app reflects a new paradigm for health brands: one where the product is no longer the end, but the beginning of a much more personal and empowering experience.
